Summer may not officially begin until June 21st, but everyone in the U.S. knows the unofficial start to the season is Memorial Day weekend. The telltale signs are in place. The sun is setting later. The catalogs in the mailbox are peddling swimsuits and beach bargains.  There’s no denying that school is winding down and lazy days lie ahead.

Here are a few great ways to make the most of summer while creating memories.

• Hit the beach – with miles of beautiful beaches within minutes of Kitterman Woods why not take advantage of all nature has to offer.

• Gather in the kitchen – and let summer’s simple bounty guide an afternoon of family fun by making smoothies or fresh squeezed lemonade.

• Go fishing – why not visit one of our local parks that allow fishing or check out the jetty.

• Check out the library – out local library’s offer lots of activities and events free of cost.
