Jazz It Up at Melody Lane

Every year, Fort Pierce Jazz and Blues Society hosts a free blues concert on the waterfront at Melody Lane in beautiful downtown Fort Pierce. They bring a phenomenally talented group or musician down. Come enjoy some quality jazz and blues this Sunday November 19th.

The stage will be up; the equipment will be hauled out, and the musicians will be ready to share an afternoon of professional music that won’t cost you a single penny.

Please make sure to bring your own lawn chair and the leave the bottles and cans at home. There will be delicious food and refreshing drinks available throughout the afternoon. This event will start at 1 p.m. and go until 5 p.m.

They will start off with a little bit of jazz, then take a left turn and bring you a little blues. This year they have a really special musical treat with Dave Scott and the Reckless Shots lighting up the stage starting at 3 p.m. with high-caliber blues-rock and rhythm and blues that will make it impossible for you to stay in your seats. You’ll remember Dave Scott because of his searing guitar and vocals during his tenure with the late, great David Shelley & Bluestone, who packed the house for Fort Pierce Jazz and Blues every time they played.

Festival goers will enjoy a weekend of live music and entertainment, a variety of traditional carnival food, and midway carnival rides. Wristbands cost $20; $1 per ticket. (Average price per ride is five tickets.)

Kitterman Woods, are you a Bob Marley fan? Looking for some time to soak in some sun and listen to some cool vibes?

Enjoy a day long outdoor festival at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center on June 17, 2017 beginning at 2 p.m., gates open at 12 p.m. It is first-come, first serve seating. L&M Record’s own reggae artist, JoJo Romero will perform his own hit songs as a tribute to Bob Marley performed by Code Red Band. A tribute to Ohio Players will be performed by Reaxtion Band.

Next on tap for Live! Just north of Kitterman Woods you will find Grammy winning singer Judy Collins’ featuring her newest concert, “A Love Letter to Stephen Sondheim” on Wednesday February 22 at The Emerson Center.

Judy Collins has thrilled audiences for over 50 years as a classically trained pianist with a lifelong love of the guitar. This Grammy Award winning singer songwriter is drawn to music of hope that speaks to the heart. Judy Collins, now 76, is as creatively vigorous as ever, writing, performing 80 to 100 dates nationwide, and nurturing fresh talent. She is a modern day Renaissance woman who is also an accomplished painter, filmmaker, record label head, musical mentor, and an in-demand keynote speaker for mental health and suicide prevention. She continues to create music of hope and healing that light up the world and speaks to the heart.

The last time Ms. Collins visited The Emerson Center in 2014, the audience delighted in her luminescent presence alternating between playing the guitar and piano, singing, reminiscing and reflecting throughout her popular one-woman show. Take Flight at The Stuart Airshow

Do you hear the plane’s buzzing over Kitterman Woods?

That is because they are heading to Stuart for the Airshow this weekend. The airshow kicks off today at 5 pm. They will kick off the event with a night show performance and firework. Can’t make it tonight but still want to go? No worries, the airshow will be going on all weekend long!

With plenty of thrills for all ages. Enjoy the aviation acrobatics as you look up into the sky. Go on board some of the many planes they will have on display. Or take a ride on a helicopter. If keeping your feet on the ground is more your thing, then visit the many vendor booths that will be at the show. There will be food, beverages, and amusement rides available for purchase.
